Professional Development

The School of Human Resources & Labor Relations' Professional Development program (formerly HR Executive Education), is the premier provider of professional education and certification in the areas of human resources, labor/employment relations, workers' compensation, and leadership.

Our faculty, who are subject matter experts with real-world experience, develop and facilitate programs that are built on a solid foundation of effective teaching, research, and theory. Participants gain practical experience by participating in mock negotiations or other "hands-on" exercises.

From Chief Human Resource Officers benefiting from learning how to interact more effectively with their Board, to those just entering the fields of human resources, labor relations or workers' compensation, our programs facilitate professional success throughout one's career.

Join the thousands of successful professionals who have benefited from the expertise and resources of the School of Human Resources and Labor Relations at Michigan State University.

I was worried about the class being small and moving to an online format but it ended up being really great. The smaller size felt more personal and the breakout rooms were great to connect with colleagues from across the country and in different fields. I still prefer in-person but this was a great alternative!
