Miles joins HRLR through the College of Social Science Dean's Research Associate Program (DRAP), an initiative established in 2018 to support the recruitment and development of early-career scholars whose research and teaching advance academic excellence and contribute to Institutional Access, Opportunity, and Excellence at Michigan State University. The program provides mentorship, professional development, research support, and a pathway toward tenure-system faculty positions within the College of Social Science.

Dr. Miles studies how people navigate and develop their careers over time. Using quantitative methods, she takes an equity-focused approach to the future of work by examining how individuals interpret and respond to career feedback, how technology and structural conditions shape the psychological experience of work, and when and how social identity becomes consequential for careers. Dr. Miles' work has been published in journals including Personnel Psychology, Technology, Mind, and Behavior, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and PLOS ONE, and she has received a grant from the American Psychological Foundation.
