Capstone Course in Human Capital & Society Concludes with Presentation to Executives From Dell Technologies

On April 20th, students in Prof. Mevan Jayasinghe’s Capstone course in Human Capital & Society presented their Policy Change projects to an audience of over 20 executives from Dell Technologies, including Senior Vice President of Human Resources Ed Loya, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Vanice Hayes, and Chief Human Resources Officer Jennifer Saavedra.

For 10 weeks throughout the spring 2021 semester, student teams received weekly mentorship from human resource executives at Dell to solve current organizational challenges relating to retaining top and diverse talent, improving learning technology, remote onboarding of new hires, and keeping middle management engaged.

This practical learning experience for students in the Human Capital & Society major was made possible through the pioneering participation of Dell Technologies in the Talent Partnership program launched recently by the School of Human Resources and Labor Relations.
