Michelle Kaminski Recognized with College of Social Science Outreach and Engagement Award
School of Human Resources and Labor Relations (HRLR) Associate Professor, Michelle Kaminski, has been honored with the College of Social Science Outreach and Engagement Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to worker education, advocacy, and community engagement. This award is given to a faculty member for their significant impact on the larger community through creative and innovative outreach or applied knowledge.
Dr. Kaminski's commitment to outreach has advanced initiatives that promote fairness, leadership, and worker well-being across a wide range of industries and communities. Her efforts have strengthened organizations, empowered workers, and supported broader movements for equity in the workplace.
"Through her extensive work with labor unions and state agencies, Dr. Kaminski has positively influenced thousands of workers by providing critical education on labor rights, leadership, and workplace justice," said Dr. Jason Huang, Director of the School of Human Resources and Labor Relations. Dr. Michelle Kaminski is an Associate Professor and Associate Director for Undergraduate Studies in the School of Human Resources and Labor Relations at Michigan State University. Her work focuses on labor education, where she develops and teaches workshops for union members and leaders on topics such as labor law, collective bargaining, steward training, workplace bullying, union leadership, communication skills, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and basic economics.
