Graduates of our Master of Human Resources & Labor Relations share a special identification within the HR and LR profession as alumni of our School. This unique SHRLR association offers our School and fellow alumni an invaluable resource of talent and support. First, our alumni enhance the student experience by being frequent speakers in the classroom and via our student-run SHRM Executive Speaker Series. Alumni also act as coaches and mentors to our students and help prepare them as they interview for summer internships and full-time positions upon graduation.
Second, alumni are able to draw upon our alumni network throughout their careers; utilizing our exclusive LinkedIn site and joining in local alumni receptions and events hosted across the country. Keeping alumni abreast of all things happening at our School, we also regularly provide SHRLR News and Class Notes from SHRLR, as well as maintaining active Facebook and Twitter pages.
As described next, alumni also make an important difference in our School's success by serving as loyal and active members of our external Advisory Board and our Alumni Relations Board.

Duncan Ferguson, Class of 1978, Homewood, IL
Michigan State gave alumnus Duncan Ferguson the start to a great life and successful career in the Windy City.
"Now we want to give something back to the university because it's allowed us to have a great career and to make a difference. Whenever I can help out Michigan State people I do. We come from a space where we're just kind of nice, normal people who want to get the job done."
