Recertification Information

Stay current and demonstrate your professional status by maintaining your certifications.

The CHRS and CWCP certifications are valid until December 31st of the second year after initial certification or the last recertification. For example, a CWCP earned in May of 2014 would be valid until December 31st of 2016. After recertifying in 2016, the certification would be valid until December 31st of 2018.

You may apply for recertification at any time during the year in which your certification expires. To avoid a lapse in certification, we encourage you to apply for recertification by December 1st of the year that your certification will expire.

Follow these three easy steps to maintain your CHRS certification

  1. Engage in 28 hours of continuing education during the two years after you earn your certification or recertify.

Activities that earn continuing education credits

  2. Complete the Application for Recertification form and submit, along with supporting documentation (see below) to Carrie Mejorado at comclm@msu.edu or via fax to (517) 432-0138.

    Download Application for Recertification

  3. Submit the recertification fee

    Pay Online

Note: During payment on the next page, please disregard the location and start/end dates as these are not applicable to recertification registrations.

Payment by check: Is also acceptable and should be included with the Application for Recertification. Mailing address and recertification fee is listed on the form.
